Alireza Vaziri

In 2003, Alireza Vaziri advanced into the Internet industry as the technical support of an ISP. It was around 2006 that he found his interest in networking and system engineering. He has worked with different ISPs and organisations as a System/Network Administrator until 2016, from which he moved into cybersecurity. Back in those days, he found many ISPs in the Middle East region were facing Internet abuse, so botnets and DDoS caught his attention.

Alireza Vaziri has spoken at several conferences, including RIPE and MENOG, regarding the reduction of abuse in their network. He’s currently helping LIRs reduce their network abuse and protect themselves.

Unfortunately, inputs from the Middle East region are not sufficient and the number of contributions to the community is low compared to other service regions. He believes that with the help of people from each region, most of these issues could be addressed in RIPE meetings.

Alireza Vaziri serves the RIPE community as a PC member and is the Anti-Abuse Working Group Co-chair. He believes a safe and secure Internet is achievable with the help of the community and stakeholders.
