14:00 < Gergana_RIPENCC> Hi everyone, I'm Gergana from the RIPE NCC. If you have questions/comments for the presenter and want me to read it out, please state your name/affiliation and I'll go to the mic when questions are called for. Keep in mind that there is up to a 45 second delay for remote participants, so it's better to get your questions in before the question period begins.

14:54 < moritz> Moritz (SIDN Labs): Massimo was presenting his study on geo location earlier this week. I was wondering how this might affect geo location algorithms.

14:54 < moritz> ah, too bad
14:54 < moritz> thanks
14:54 < Gergana_RIPENCC> sorry, there's about 60s delay...
14:55 < moritz> np

14:56 < moritz> Yes, I should be able to reach him
15:10 < Gergana_RIPENCC> Olav has asked for questions.
15:11 < Gergana_RIPENCC> Moritz, I've just received an answer from Massimo to your question: "The research started exactly with the purpose of affecting current algorithms. I was involved in the first implementation of RIPE IP map which uses parameters available in litterature (and some pre and post filtering of the results). We started this research mostly to improve the quality of the geolocation as available now and question some of the common decisions[CUT]
15:12 < Gergana_RIPENCC> ... provide a set of recommendations on how to tune current algorithms (without inventing new ones) and make them more accurate. I hope such recommendations will be applied and further researched."
15:13 < Gergana_RIPENCC> Robert Kisteleki has begun the presentation "Tools Update".
15:19 < moritz> thanks @Gergana
15:19 < Gergana_RIPENCC> welcome :)
